Based on a true story, IN CLAY is a new one-woman musical told from a quaint Parisian apartment in the late 1930s. Marie-Berthe Cazin, a ceramist in her early 40s, eagerly awaits her estranged childhood friend, and now celebrated artist, Henrietta Tirman. Her imminent arrival pushes Marie to reflect on the great joys and sorrows of a life devoted to making art.

At 15th annual Off-West End Awards, IN CLAY won 2 of the awards it was nominated for. Rebecca Simmonds and Jack Miles won for for CREATION, and Rosalind Ford won for PERFORMANCE.

NAMT's Festival of new Musicals

Selected from over five hundred submitted musicals by the festival committee over the last six months, IN CLAY performed as one of eight new musicals in front of an industry-only audience at New World Stages, New York. Broadway star Grace McLean starred as Marie Cazin.

IN CLAY IN CONCERT, THE OTHER PALACE

The trio of Danielle Steers (The Cher Show, SIX, Bat Out of Hell), Alex Young (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Anyone Can Whistle, Follies) and Roshani Abbey (Hamilton, & Juliet, Rumi: The Musical) shared the role of Marie Cazin in this unique concert performance.
